Modal Auxiliary Verb - Ciri-ciri

 CIRI-CIRI MODAL

1. Modal selalu diikuti Verb Bare Infinitive (Modal + V1)

•  She can speak English.
• We must study hard.
• She will go to Queen Institute.

2. Modal tidak boleh diikuti atau didahului oleh to infinitive

• She wants to can speak engliash fluently. ( She wants to be able to speak engliash fluently )

3. Tidak boleh ada 2 modal murni bertemu dalam 1 kalimat.

• Zana will can drive a car. (Zana will be able to drive a car)

4. Modal tidak boleh bertemu primary auxiliary verb kecuali 'be' dan 'have'.

• Do you can speak english? (Can you speak english?)
• I will be doing my homework.
• He will go home after he will have finished all exams.

5. Modal tidak bisa masuk ke dalam tenses Perfect.

Kecuali untuk modal kebawah, yakni Modal yang berada dalam tenses Future dan Past Future, seperti:

• I have been can drive a car. (I have been able to drive a car.)
